Cactus Feeders is an Amarillo, Texas-based cattle company. Originally founded by the Engler Family in 1975, today we operate 15 Feedyards and Outside Cattle Locations producing over a million head of fed cattle annually. The Company has locations throughout the Texas Panhandle, Southwest Kansas, and Eastern Colorado.

About the Position: 

Hale Center Feedyard, one of our Texas Panhandle locations, is seeking a dedicated Feedmill Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in welding, mechanical repairs, and preventative maintenance specific to feedmill operations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on feedmill equipment, including mixers, conveyors, rollers, and augers.
• Inspect and maintain feed trucks and feed delivery systems for safe, reliable operation.
• Monitor and service boilers, motors, and gearboxes used in feed processing.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns to minimize downtime and keep feed production on schedule.
• Complete welding and fabrication projects related to feedmill machinery and infrastructure.
• Ensure feedmill equipment is kept clean and in safe operating condition.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing safety at all times.
• Perform other feedmill-related maintenance duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and work for 8–10 hours per day.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Comfortable working around dust, noise, and moving machinery in all weather conditions.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
• 2+ years of mechanical or maintenance experience (preferred).
• Welding and fabrication skills required.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, motors, and conveyor systems strongly preferred.
• Team-oriented with good communication and problem-solving skills.
